Lithuanian Youth Camp "Dainava"

Summer camps have been held at "Dainava" since the early 1960's when Detroit-area Lithuanians purchased the 225 acre site.  Camp Dainava's location within convenient driving distances from Detroit, Chicago, Toronto, Hamilton, and Cleveland have made it a popular location for Lithuanian summer camps and off-season retreats.

Located in the Irish Hills of southern Michigan, Dainava boasts a 5-acre lake called "Spyglys" or Thorn Lake, a rolling topography and impressive oak and pine forests.  A natural ampitheater is the site of numerous evening bonfires or "laužai".  Campers live in either the girls or the boys barracks or in the "White House".  Off-season accomodations are limited to the heated "White House"
